Yankees keep Torre hanging...Angels GM steps down

UNDATED, Fla. (AP) -- Joe Torre's future with the Yankees remains
unclear. Organizational meetings at the home of owner George
Steinbrenner yesterday failed to return a verdict on the popular
Yankee skipper. They resume today.
In other baseball news:
-- The architect of the Angels' 2002 World Series championship
team is stepping down and will now serve as a consultant to the
American League franchise. General manager Bill Stoneman is being
replaced by player development director Tony Reagins (REE'-gihnz).
