13-year-old shot in Melbourne

- Melbourne police are investigating the shooting of a 13-year-old.

Police received a tip that someone was lying in the street at the corner of Grant Street and University Boulevard in Melbourne around 5:05 a.m. Monday morning.

When police arrived they found the unidentified child lying wounded in the street .

Officers immediately provided medical attention.

Police say that a dark colored sedan may have been involved in the shooting.
