Police officer helps get man a new wheelchair after his was stolen

- A police officer in Westminster is being praised on social media for a random act of kindness.

Sgt. Donnie Webb with the Westminster Police Department was patrolling the streets when he saw a homeless man laying on the sidewalk. He learned that the man's wheelchair had been stolen.

The officer then sent out a message to other officers asking for help locating a new wheelchair for the man.

Another officer went to Mission Palms Healthcare Center where employees donated a wheelchair.

Sgt. Webb then took the new wheelchair to the man who smiled and said 'nice things do happen.'

The police department shared the story on Facebook.
