- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office has arrested 13 men accused of exchanging sexually explicit messages with officers they believed were juveniles.  Undercover agents set up meetings with the men, where deputies moved in to take them into custody.

The defendants used social media sites, emails and text messages to arrange sexual encounters with the agents, who posed online as children, 14 years old or younger.   Investigators said some of the men brought drugs and condoms.

"Our main goal is to protect the children and let these people know: We are there, we will go after them, and if they stick their heads up, we're going to let the world know who they are," Sheriff Ben Johnson said in a Monday afternoon news conference announcing the arrests.

The defendants, one of whom is identified as a NASA contractor, range in age from 18 to 61.

Authorities say an Orlando man, 28-year-old Benjermin Roy, fled on foot after deputies tried to take him into custody.  Roy remains at large.
