OCALA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn will stay in office after winning a third term following a landslide victory over challenger William Gilcrest. Guinn said he wants to focus on new developments in Downtown Ocala. "Talk about the downtown, and it's the heart of your city. The heart of your city is failing, it reflects on the rest of the city. We want to make sure that it's taken care of," he said. Guinn is also pushing a plan to fix roads and improve police department equipment.
Guinn was first elected mayor in 2011 after serving for 12 years as the councilman representing District 4.
