Terrifying moments as clerk is robbed at gunpoint

FOX 35 News at 10 p.m.

- Clermont police officers are looking for two men who robbed a Circle K on Thursday, pistol-whipping a store clerk.  Store surveillance cameras caught the harrowing moments on video.

It was around 2:30 a.m., at the Circle K located at 190 U.S. 27, when police said a man jumped the counter and waved a black semiautomatic weapon.   Investigators said the man was wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants, and he concealed his identity by wearing a shiny, red devil mask.  A clerk told police that another man stood at the door as a lookout.  That man was described as wearing blue jeans, a gray hoodie, and a blue bandana which covered his face.

After the clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, one of the suspects struck her in the head with the gun and took off.   The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
