The Marion County Sheriff's Office says a man and one of their deputies exchanged gunfire Wednesday evening at a gas station.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was shot in the leg Wednesday evening at a gas station.
Authorities received a 911 call from the Marathon/Kangaroo gas station on NE 20th Street, where operators were told a man was in the parking lot and in possession on multiple handguns. When units arrived, deputies said they saw the man getting in and out of his vehicle with two handguns.
Deputies say when they when they made contact with the man, he raised one of the handguns to his head, at which time deputies began negotiations with him. Deputies said he then spontaneously turned the second weapon towards them deputies and began firing, causing the deputies returned fire.
Officials say the suspect identified as 31-year-old Cristiaan Oliver Dubrino was shot and later pronounced dead at the hospital. Officials say Sgt. Dan Trammell received a gunshot wound to the leg but is now recovering at home.
