Deputies head to Texas to question Brevard County coach arrested

Brevard County deputies are headed to Texas to question suspected coach.

- Brevard County deputies are heading to Texas this week to question a local basketball coach wanted for child molestation. U.S. Marshals arrested 51-year-old David White Friday who they believe was trying to escape to Mexico after White was accused of molesting a boy at his Malabar home.

FOX35 was told deputies listened in while the boy's mother confronted White over the phone.  They say he denied everything and worried the allegations would ruin his reputation.

One neighbor who spoke with FOX35 says they were already concerned. "Kids were over here all the time, constantly," said Candace Haddock of Malabar. "He bragged to me about, maybe 3 months ago, about being in charge of the team; the league. Something is very off; it always has been."

A few days after the allegations surfaced deputies say they got a call from White's wife who said her husband confessed to the crime. Since White's arrest officials say they've received similar stories from several other parents.

Anyone who's children came in contact with White is asked to call the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
