Deputies say man broke into home as owners slept

Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on Monday arrested a man after they said he broke into a home in Ocala, as residents inside the home were sleeping.

Erick Russell Miller, 29, said he entered the home, because he was being “chased” by an unknown group of people.  A woman inside the home told deputies that she heard noises coming from the living room around 2 a.m., so she grabbed her gun and went to check it out.

She found the man, later identified as Miller, and attempted to hold him at gunpoint.  He fled but was quickly located and arrested.

Miller has been charged with Armed Burglary of Dwelling and is being held in the Marion County Jail on $10,000 bond.
