Hit-and-run crash investigated as murder

In video released by the Daytona Beach Police Department, investigators said it shows a minivan behind two motorcycles just after 3 a.m. on Sunday morning. One of the men on the motorcycles was 42-year-old Rodger Martin. He was hit and killed by the driver of the minivan, according to authorities.

Police Chief Mike Chitwood on Tuesday said they now believe this hit-and-run incident was done on purpose.  "The way it looks now is, this was absolutely an intentional act," he said.  "That man died a horrific death, and the cowards and the punks that were in that van need to be brought to justice."

Chief Chitwood said there was a fight outside a bar shortly before Martin was run down and killed. "Whoever knows anything about this vehicle you see in the video, any information at all we can get, we believe this was an intentional act. The poor victim was run down and had a horrific death. He was underneath the vehicle being dragged to death ."

There is a $20,000 dollar reward for any tip that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for killing Martin.
