Police search for man exposing himself in Ormond Beach

Residents in one Ormond Beach are on alert, after police say a man has been running around the neighborhood naked and exposing himself to women jogging and walking the dog.

“I can't believe that it's happening in this neighborhood,” said Beebe White who lives in the neighborhood.

Police say it's happening around 5 a.m. in the morning -- two of the incidents happened in the area of Neptune Ave and Oak Drive

“We've had him jogging, on two occasions with nothing on but tennis shoes, and running past the victim, and when he got close to a different lady jogging he pulled his shirt up to expose himself,” said Officer Keith Walker of the Ormond Beach Police Department.

Officers say while only three incident have been reported since  August, they believe there could be more victims.

“Our main concern is we don't know what this guy is up to, it's not normal to behave in this manner, so we don't know if he's capable of violence or he's looking for rape or something like that,” Walker said.

Officer say  they're now stepping up patrols in the Ormond Beach neighborhood in an effort to find the suspect.

“We have some extra patrols maybe we'll do some bicycle patrols in the area too,” Walker said.

Police only have a vague description of the suspect, residents say they just hope the man is caught before he can strike again

“This is absolutely unbelievable for anybody to expose themselves obviously he's sick but he obviously needs to be out of any neighborhood,” White said.

Police are asking anyone who encounters the suspect to call 911 right away, or if you have information about him contact the Ormond Beach Police Department.
