Popcorn bags passed out at school's movie night has gun advertisement on it

- Movie night at an elementary school ended with controversy when parents noticed that there wre advertisements for a gun store on the bags.

A parent told Fox 35 reporter Tiffany Teasley that these bags were passed out to her children at Stephen Foster Elementary School's movie night. Her husband noticed the 'RKGuns.com' advertisement front and center.

On the RKGuns website, an AR-15 is featured as America's most popular.

The same bags have been given to customers at Rural King stores, which sponsor the movie night.

The Alachua County School District calls this an oversight. One official said that "It is definitely a violation in our policy." It says any advertisement materials should not include references to anything like drugs or weapons. That is part of the policy. So, it should not have happened and we have had conversations with the PTA to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Fox 35 reached out to RKGuns for a comment, but did not hear back.
