Store manager accused of hiding camera in bathroom

Deputies say the manager of a tobacco store was arrested after illegally recording a woman with a hidden camera inside a bathroom, without her knowledge.  Jonathan Johnson, 46, is charged with video voyeurism. Deputies say he secretly recorded the woman at Gator Smokes tobacco shop.

According to investigators, the victim noticed a device with a lens and sd card, hidden in a fake plant. She called deputies afterwards. Beverly Naclerio is a customer at the store. "He's never once seemed off. It's definitely scary and a shock, especially since he never once seemed to come off like that."

Deputies say they found the device and SD card down a storm drain, after a witness told them Johnson was standing over one outside the store.  The video showed the victim using the bathroom, as well as Johnson setting up the camera.

Merchant Johanna Maxwell says police were everywhere. "We saw one of them come out and pulled in over here. And saw five more of them come in over there."  She is surprised it happened just two doors, over in this quiet Ocala strip mall.  "I'm shocked, I'm shocked. I just found out about it an hour ago. What's he like? I thought he was a nice guy."

No one inside the store wanted to comment on the incident, but employees said that Johnson has been terminated. He is out of jail on a $1,000 bond.
