3 people recovering after shooting at Daytona Beach restaurant

Three people are recovering after a shooting at a restaurant in Daytona Beach.

According to Daytona Beach police, the shots rang out around 10 p.m. on Monday at the "Crab Stop 2" on 933 W. International Speedway Blvd.

Police said they arrived on scene to find two people with gunshot wounds. A third person called dispatch and said they were shot in the leg and were on the way to the hospital.  According to officers, none of the injuries are life-threatening.

Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood says he expects to have an arrest warrant soon for the suspect who started the shootout  in the parking lot of the restaurant.

Chitwood said surveillance video shows that there was a verbal fight between the relatives of an employee who had been fired from the restaurant and the restaurant owner, Oliver Ross.  Eventually, the family members fired at Ross and Ross fired back, Chitwood said.  When officers arrived on the scene, Ross and another man were being treated for gunshot wounds.  The third victim had been struck by a bullet that passed through the passenger side door of his car.

Tuesday, officers worked on getting an arrest warrant, but as of late afternoon, no one was in custody.   Anyone with information is asked to call the Daytona Beach Police Department at 386-671-5100
