ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - It's a huge week for the Orlando City Soccer Club as the Lions head to New England this weekend to take on the Revolution. They really need to get three points wiht a road win, but they will be dealing with some changes, because a few key players have been called up to national team duty.
You can watch Orlando City Soccer Club vs. New England Revolution on FOX 35 Saturday at 7:30PM.
Noticably absent will be three impactful starters: team captain Kaká, midfielder Darwin Ceren, and striker and team leading scorer Cyle Larin. Coach Adrian Heath is trying to be optimistic.
"I think we've put the same team out twice all year so it's going to be nothing new changing the line up."
Although he admits, it is a bit frustrating that Major League Soccer does not take breaks like the European leagues, during international play periods.
"I think it's something we're going to have to address now that we're getting younger and better MVPs," he said. "It's not right, especially when you're investing and clubs are investing huge amounts of money for these players."
One man Orlando City may be adding back to the line up is Brek Shea, who has been recovering from sports hernia surgery.
"I just think I need to take it day by day. I hope Saturday is a realistic goal for me," said Shea.
With Saturday night's tie against Chicago, the Lions are now sixth in the East Division, in line to make the playoffs, but they desperately need some wins.
"We're going to have to come up with a win game on the road," said Coach Heath. "I still think we're capable of winning the games at home against Montreal and against New York."
