Race In America: King's Dream Deferred?

Race In America: King's Dream Deferred?

Posted:

As we approach the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C., have things changed since his "I Have a Dream" speech?

How far have we come?

Those were the questions we posed on "Good Day" Thursday for the latest in our "Race in America" segments.

It was 48 years ago this Sunday that King delivered his speech. How many kids have memorized those words?

This weekend, thousands of people will honor the anniversary of his speech on the Washington mall.

And yet, have we made any real progress when it comes to race relations in this country? Has doctor king's dream been realized since his March on Washington in 1963?

Joining us to discuss were Daily News Columnist Stu Bykofsky and WRNB radio personality E. Steven Collins.
