MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Ocala Police have arrested three people who they say damaged 56 headstones at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Ocala.
The headstones were discovered overturned Sunday morning. Investigators say several empty beer cans and a cigarette butt were found in the cemetery and taken into evidence.
On Tuesday police arrested Wade Allen Thomas Wagner, 20, Justin DeWight Raney, 21, and William David Petty III, 21, and charged them with the 3rd Degree Felony Injuring or Removing Tomb or Monuments: Disturbing Contents of Grave or Tomb.
Detectives say all three men admitted to participating in the crime.
