The summer heat can be maddening, but pulling out a gun to settle a dispute with an air conditioning repairman is not cool.
Stan Nguyen, 54, was arrested by Volusia County Sheriff's deputies and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, after deputies said he threatened the repairman.
Nguyen called the Sheriff's Office on Friday evening to report that the repairman had destroyed his air conditioning unit and was refusing to leave. A short while later, a call was received from the AC repairman who said Nguyen had accused him of destroying the unit and then pulled a gun on him, threatening to shoot him in the back if he tried to leave.
The repairman took cover behind his work van, telling the dispatch operator, "I'm in fear for my life!"
When deputies arrived at the scene, Nguyen explained that he had refused to pay the repairman, because he believed there was further damage to the AC unit. After sorting things out, deputies arrested Nguyen and transported him to the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach.
