KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Pastor Angel Perez-Nieves turned himself in Friday evening on fraud charges.

Kissimmee Police on Thursday issued a warrant, accusing Perez-Nieves of stealing the identities of some of his parishioners.

Thursday night, Perez-Nieves went to the Osceola County jail and said he tried to turn himself in, but was told by jail staff they don't take people who just turn themselves in on warrants without a law enforcement officer.

Perez-Nieves said he left. After some finger pointing between police, the jail and Perez-Nieves, Perez-Nieves turned himself in early Friday evening.

Perez-Nieves was out on bond since May, when he was charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy.
