It was June 13, 2011. Jimmy Ledford was lying in the middle of County Road 415, near Osteen, and he was dying. He had just been hit by a car whose driver then drove away. Despite devastating injuries, he pulled out his cell phone, called his mom and told her goodbye.
The car hit Ledford as he checked on a motorcyclist who had crossed the centerline and slammed into the truck he was riding in just moments before. The Florida Highway Patrol never found the driver who killed Jimmy Ledford.
Now, a little more than a year later, Ledford's family is using social media trying to drum up leads.
FOX 35's Tom Johnson talked to his mother about her quest to get "Justice for Jimmy" using Facebook.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol at 407-737-2213.
