KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Kissimmee Police are making a frightening case a top priority. They want to make sure this community is on alert after what happened early Sunday morning.
While a family of five was sleeping in the Orange Gardens neighborhood, a stranger broke into their little girl's bedroom. When the child woke up, the man was doing something sexually inappropriate. Police say thankfully he did not touch the little girl. They're not saying exactly what the man was doing, but stress that it was enough to put them on high alert.
Police have increased patrols in Orange Gardens. For several hours Friday officers got out of their cars and canvassed the neighborhood on bikes and on foot, making it easier to approach folks. They showed a sketch of what the suspect looks like to each person they came across. Kissimmee Police say officers will be doing this all week.
Investigators say the suspect is in his late teens or early twenties.
Anyone with information on this suspect is urged to contact the Kissimmee Police Department's Major Crimes Unit at 407-846-3333 or CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS (8744). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 dollars.
