COCOA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
The body of a Cocoa man who disappeared while swimming in a retention pond about a quarter mile off of Grissom Parkway has be found.
Walter Perdieu, 37, was swimming in the pond with friends and family on Sunday, when he went under a couple times then failed to surface. A dive team with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office began searching for Perdieu Sunday evening. His body was discovered a little after noon Monday.
Authorities said that, although it appears to be an accidental drowning, the incident is under investigation.
