TAVARES, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Lake County sheriff's Cyber Crimes detectives announced the arrest of 26 men accused of traveling for sexual activity with a child.
Working in conjunction with other law enforcement member agencies of an Internet task force, detectives conducted an undercover, online operation which targeted those who look for sex with children over the Internet. "Operation: Take Two," took place July 23 through July 29 in a vacant home in the Tavares area.
Throughout the operation, detectives posed as a child, or guardian of a child, in various online chat forums. Once they were solicited for unlawful sexual activity, detectives arranged for the suspects to meet with them, at which time they were taken into custody.
The ages of the men ranged from 19 to 69. One of the men arrested was a truck driver who came from Georgia to meet his victim. Detectives also seized four vehicles.
