Publix customers in Ocala will soon have the opportunity to participate in new technology that will allow shoppers to use paperless coupons during checkout.
The Lakeland-based grocer says the system will eliminate having to use paper coupons and printed ads, presently found in newspaper circulars and websites like Coupons.com.
Shoppers have to first register for the service at Publix.com/dcoupon. To redeem, shoppers provide the cashier with the phone number used for the registration.
Publix is also testing the new system in stores throughout Alabama.
