OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Osceola County Sheriff's detectives on Tuesday arrested a former school resource officer and Big Brothers and Big Sisters volunteer on child pornography charges.
Robert Kevin Britt, 38, of Davenport, faces 10 counts of child pornography. The investigation began when Polk County Sheriff's detectives, conducting an undercover Internet operation, identified Britt as a suspect using the Internet to traffic or distribute child pornography images.
Polk detectives contacted the Osceola County Sheriff's Office when they discovered Britt resided in Osceola County. Osceola County detectives obtained a search warrant and seized several computers and electronic devices that were located in Britt's bedroom. Detectives processed the devices and found at least 10 child pornography images.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned Britt formerly worked for the Pensacola Police Department as a school resource officer, was affiliated with the Explorer Program, and as a patrol officer. He was also a volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Florida. Detectives made contact with the organization, and at this time, do not have evidence any of the images are related to that agency.
