South Florida authorities say a woman who was parasailing with her husband off Pompano Beach died when her harness broke and she plummeted as much as 200 feet into the ocean.
Authorities say the captain of the boat performed CPR on the woman, identified as Kathleen Miskell, 28, but she had gone into cardiac arrest.
A spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the investigation was focusing on the equipment, including the malfunction of the harness.
Miskell was a teacher's aide at a middle school in Connecticut and an accomplished Irish step dancer.
