OCALA, Fla. (WOGX FOX 51) -
A jury in Marion County deliberated for a little more than an hour before finding Michael Frye guilty. Prosecutors said the Marion County man kidnapped and raped an Ocala woman.
On Wednesday, they called on a nurse who gathered evidence off of the victim after the brutal attack, a detective, and a crime scene investigator. State prosecutors wrapped up their case by playing video captured of detectives interrogating Frye after he was taken in for questioning last October.
The defense did not call one witness to the stand, nor did they present their side of what happened. During closing arguments Frye's attorney told the jury that the alleged victim was in the minivan the defendant was driving, but no one knows what actually happened. He claims his client said the sex was consensual.
Frye will be sentenced in 6 weeks.
