APOPKA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Investigators with the Apopka Police Department have released details in a fatal hit and run which left a bicyclist dead.   The deadly incident happened at the intersection of Park Avenue and Albatross Street around 9 p.m. on August 18.

Donald Marion, 49, was bicycling eastbound, crossing Park Avenue, when he collided with a silver Toyota Yaris.  Marion was ejected from the bike and landed in the road.  Marion was then run over by another vehicle and his body was dragged north on Park Avenue.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle that struck Marion's body was an SUV.  They said the driver stopped briefly after running over the body, but did not exit the vehicle, and then fled the scene.  Marion died at the scene.

Two car parts were located at the scene bearing a Nissan logo, with part numbers.  Investigators located the vehicle at 2752 Sheila Drive in Apopka where they learned it was driven by Litasha Stokes on the night of the hit and run.

Stokes was subsequently arrested for leaving the scene of a crash involving death and tampering with or destroying evidence.
