MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Two people were killed and a third hospitalized in Marion County Sunday morning.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office told FOX 35 it has a suspect in custody. They booked Azael Stevens into the jail on charges related to the murder of his grandmother and his great grandmother, plus the shooting of a third woman not related to Stevens. He faces 2 counts of felony murder, 1 count of attempted felony murder, 1 count of grand theft auto, among other charges.
A spokesperson with the Sheriff's Office says a 911 call came in at 1:49 a.m. Sunday. Deputies arrived to find 3 shooting victims. Two had already died. The third was rushed to a hospital.
Witnesses then told deputies a suspect was driving the victim's car. The suspect, Stevens was found about 20 minutes later driving the victim's car. He was taken into custody. He did not speak to detectives.
