Cops: Stolen trailer used as 'doomsday' bunker

Posted: Updated:

Kissimmee police have recovered two stolen trailers which were taken from an area tire company.

One of the trailers, taken from Jeff Clay and Sons Tire, was located outside a home near the intersection of Kissimmee Manor Drive at Eola Drive.  A second trailer was discovered buried in the ground and described as some type of "doomsday" bunker, according to Kissimmee Police spokesperson Stacie Miller.

One person has been interviewed in connection to the thefts, but authorities are not identifying that individual.  Miller said that, though the person is cooperating, he could still face grand theft charges.

Residents in the neighborhood told FOX 35 that their neighbor started preparing the bunked in April.

"He had a big crane. He was digging deep, he'd disappear behind the fence, and come back up," said Betty Ryan.
