KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Kissimmee police have charged a man with grand theft, burglary to a business, criminal mischief and tampering with evidence, after stolen property was recovered at his home on Tuesday.
Officers received a tip that the stolen trailer and other equipment was located at the home of Roberto Gonzalez Broche, located at 1319 Manor Drive in Kissimmee.
Officers made contact with the 26-year-old Broche and received consent to retrieve the stolen trailer. Upon arrival, officers also located a chopped up 2007 Honda Civic that was reported stolen out of Orlando, and four additional trailers that were reported stolen out of Osceola County.
The stolen trailer, which was taken in the early morning hours of Monday from Jeff Clay and Sons tire company, was buried underground in Broche's backyard and believed to be used as some type shelter or 'doomsday' bunker, according to a police spokesperson.
Broche was booked into the Osceola County Jail. Charges for the additional stolen items are pending.
