PALM COAST, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Tom Kane said he and his wife were home when a man broke into his home and stole nearly $2,000 worth of property.   He said the incident was captured on their surveillance cameras.

In the video, one can see a woman walk quickly to the front door and ring the bell.  No one answers, because Kane was sleeping in a back bedroom while his wife was swimming in their pool.  When she walked inside the house, she knew something was wrong.

"She walked up to me and said, 'Tom, somebody's in the house! Get your gun!'" Tom explained.

The video surveillance also shows a man getting out of a black Ford Expedition and walk around the side of the house with something in his hand.  At the same time, Kane was walking slowly through the house looking for the thief.

"I just stepped back, kicked the door open and went down on ground underneath. I figured he'd shoot at door when I opened," said Tom.   "When I went in, I had my .45 in my hand, but he was already gone. He went out the window."

Kane said the guy got a box full of personal information, credit cards, cash and even keys to his Corvette.

After a two-county chase, Flagler County deputies arrested William Fulkerson and Carmen Kilgore.  Deputies believe the twoare responsible for over a dozen burglaries in three counties.
