SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
There will be another hearing the Trayvon Martin murder case on Friday. Judge Debra S. Nelson is expected to rule on two motions related to media coverage of the case and a gag order filed by prosecutors against attorneys for George Zimmerman.
The hearing will take place on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Seminole County Courthouse. Zimmerman is not expected to attend. The hearing will be streamed live on MyFoxOrlando.com.
The 29-year-old Zimmerman fatally shot the 17-year-old Martin in February. Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, saying he shot Martin in self-defense.
State prosecutors are requesting that George Zimmerman's attorney, MarkO'Mara, be banned from talking about the Trayvon Martin murder case to the media. However, O'Mara said he will fight a gag order, saying he has not said anything inappropriate and is even reaching out to the public for help.
Zimmerman's trial is scheduled for next June.
