DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Police have identified the man whose naked body was found on the roof of the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach on Saturday afternoon.
Dylan Thomas Tharp, 29, died from multiple blunt force trauma, Daytona Beach Police say, and they consider his death a homicide.
The body of Thomas, which was wearing only socks, was found by a maintenance worker who noticed debris on the stage and looked up to see light coming through the roof.
About a month ago, police responded to a report about a burglary at the same location in which the suspects had entered through a roof hatch. Workers placed a metal grate under the opening.
The Peabody Auditorium is next to the Ocean Center and is home to the Daytona Beach Symphony Society. It has hosted numerous national and international acts such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Johnny Cash, James Brown, Jay Leno, David Copperfield and Dionne Warwick.
