Semi hauling sod overturns on Florida's Turnpike

A semi truck hauling sod traveling northbound overturned in the median of Florida's Turnpike just after 11 a.m. today at mile marker 247, troopers say.

Both north and southbound lanes were shut down for several hours, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The driver was trapped in the wreckage, and emergency crews had to extricate the person from the crash.

All lanes are now open.
