A 49-year-old woman was arrested late Wednesday night in connection with a brutal attack on a man in which he was allegedly tied to a bumper and dragged behind a truck.
Volusia County Sheriff's deputies arrested Joan Hobart and charged her with first-degree attempted murder.
According to investigators, Hobart, along with Jeanette Morris and Morris's brother Harold Anderson, beat, threatened, and nearly killed Morris's ex-husband, Robert Hall, Tuesday night.
Deputies say Hobart was the person who drove a pickup truck that Hall was tied to by his ankles and dragged behind along a dirt road.
When Morris came home Tuesday to find Hall with another woman, deputies say she, Anderson and Hobart tied Hall to the back of the pickup by his wrists and ankles and dragged him around.
Tyler Shevelan says he got a knock at his door with a bloodied and beaten Hall begging for help.
He told Fox 35 News: "There was an older guy with a rope around his neck and his underwear ripped from where he was drug. He was bleeding from back side, face, mouth, everywhere you can think of. He had ropes around his wrist, ankles, around his neck."
Deputies believe Morris was getting back at Hall for previous batteries against her.
Morris, Anderson and Hobart are all in the Volusia County Jail on no bond.
