A 28-year-old man was rearrested and faces charges for attempted murder after Pima County Sheriff's deputies say he choked his ex-girlfriend's infant several times.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department said Saturday that Jeremy Millis was arrested after investigators determined the 8-month-old baby boy left in his care has been choked.
The baby's mother told deputies that she found her son unresponsive and had left the baby with Millis.
The baby had been in critical condition and intensive care in a hospital. Deputies were told the 8-month-old was taken off life support and passed away early Wednesday morning.
Millis had previously been released from jail on bond, but was picked up at his parent's house on Wednesday morning.
Deputies say he was rearrested on murder charges and booked into a detention center.
