A woman whom deputies say shot and killed her ex-boyfriend after he clung to the hood and roof of her car for nearly 10 miles is not facing charges this morning in his death.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office:
On Saturday night, Nikki Y. McNeil tried to drop off the three children with which she shares custody with her ex-boyfriend, Lamark D. Tucker Sr.
As McNeil tried to leave the home on 10th Avenue in Ocala, Tucker became angry and took McNeil's keys and cell phone.
McNeil had an extra set of keys and used those to try to leave. As she pulled away in the vehicle, Tucker reportedly jumped onto the hood.
Tucker rode for nearly 10 miles on the car through the streets of Reddick, moving between the hood and roof and repeatedly threatening to harm McNeil. McNeil reportedly stopped at least twice to get help.
Frightened for her safety, McNeil reached for a gun inside the car and shot Tucker through the windshield. Tucker was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
According to Ocala.com, McNeil had filed a domestic violence injunction against Tucker, which was dismissed by a Marion County Circuit Court judge just Thursday.
