LADY LAKE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Detectives with the Lady Lake Police Department have released a composite sketch of a man, one of two suspects, who ambushed a woman in her car Monday morning. They want your help in identifying the man.
The shooting happened at a rural intersection outside the Hidden Oaks Subdivision. Police said 24-year-old Natasha Masoline was driving her child to pre-kindergarten, when two men walked up to her car and shot her in the shoulder.
"She's doing alright right now. Thank God she's doing ok, considering being hit in the shoulder," said Natasha's uncle, Ernest Pinkard, who said he has no idea who would do such a thing.
Police late Monday afternoon released a composite sketch of one suspect, described as a white man, 5 feet, seven inches tall, and weighing 175 pounds. He has short spiky hair that is two shades of blond, and he has distinct barber cuts in one eyebrow. The victim did not get a good look at the other suspect.
Police are not releasing many details on a possible motive, but they think she was targeted.
"We are still working some leads but at this point we do not think it is random," said Det. Ron Michaud with the Lady Lake Police Department.
The Lake County Sheriff's office tells FOX 35 that their crime scene experts have processed the car for DNA evidence, and it is locked in a secured location. Detectives will spend Monday night talking to neighbors to see if they witnessed anything.
