It's the day at the Phoenix Open for fun and shenanigans. Pro-Am Wednesday brought out thousands of fans not just of golf, but of swimming as well.
The Pro: Master's Bubba Watson. The Am: Michael Phelps. A pair of champions strolling down the fairway of the Waste Management Open, much to everyone's delight.
Phelps, who just inked a deal with Ping Golf Wednesday morning to use and promote their golf clubs, was very accommodating to fans of the golf and swim variety.
One woman got Phelps' autograph for her son who is a local swimmer. She says he was very humble about his golf game.
"He was asking for a lot of advice from the caddies and Watson and the people around him, but he was asking for help, he goes, 'I can't do this' at one point," said Lisa Montour.
When asked about how is game went, the 27-year-old Olympian, who is just now learning the game of golf, said "Not that good."
Then again, Masters champion Bubba Watson didn't seem to be a big fan of his own game either. It was about the fun.
What we discovered is Michael Phelps' swim fans are more than willing to become his golf fans.
