POINCIANA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

A silver alert issued for a missing and endangered couple from Poinciana has been canceled, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said early this morning.

The husband and wife, David Keener, 74, and Sharon Keener, 64, of 1605 Pompano Way in Poinciana, were found safe in Daytona Beach, officials said.

They left their home early Tuesday morning and were not there when their son returned home from working the night shift. He spoke with his parents around 8 a.m., and they told him that they were lost on U.S. 441. He called them back around 10:30 a.m. and they told him they were at a store in Orlando getting directions.

Both David and Sharon suffer from the early stages of dementia. Additionally, David is a diabetic and Sharon has a seizure disorder. Neither had had their medications when they went missing.
