NASCAR has long been known for getting its fans closer to the action and participants than any other major sport. But the organization is stepping that up even more at this weekend's Sprint Unlimited all-star race at Daytona International Speedway.
Hoping to cash in on the fast growing Internet technology culture, the Speedway and Sprint are letting fans call the shots. Fans can go to the race website and vote on several different aspects of the how the race will be run.
Several lucky fans will also be chosen from the crowd to be honorary race officials and carry out important tasks during the race.
