Uptown Art Expo: Arts, music, fun on tap this weekend

Bring the family to see more than 130 art exhibits Saturday and Sunday at the second annual Uptown Art Expo at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs.

The free event features fine art from jewelry, paintings, crafts, mosaics, photography, sculptures and more. Cash prizes and ribbons worth $9,600 will be judged and presented.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame icon Marty Balin, a founding member of Jefferson Airplane, will perform an acoustic storyteller performance Saturday at the Eddie Rose Ampitheatre.

On Sunday, Orlando Aerial Arts will perform their "Suspended Artistry" routine

Other activities include kids activities, chalk paintings, more concerts, festival foods and dancing routines.

Cranes Roost Park is located at 247 Cranes Roost Blvd., Altamonte Springs. Free parking is available in the Altamonte Mall parking lot.

The Uptown Art Expo is presented in part by Fox 35 WOFL and My 65 WRBW and is from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, to go UptownArtExpo.com.
