The FBI says it busted a knock-off auto parts ring which included brakes that were installed in NYC taxis.
Good Day NY asked Taxi and Limousine Commissioner David Yassky about the impact on the cabs and the riding public.
"Our taxis are safe. Every taxi comes into our inspection garage three times a year. It is the most rigorous process we know. The FBI and US Attorney did a great job here. From what we understand, counterfeit parts did make their way into taxis but we have no reason to believe that they are defective parts, " said Yassky.
