KINGMAN, Ariz. -
A 29-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stealing cash from the register of a convenience store where she worked.
Mohave County Sheriff's deputies say Amanda Couch was stealing money from the register of a convenience store in the 900 block of Blake Ranch Road. She allegedly told her employer she was giving refunds to dissatisfied customers, but video footage in the store showed no customer was in the store during the transactions.
Deputies say Couch had been taking the money since she started at the store in November 2012.
Couch was confronted when she reported for her shift and eventually admitted to taking the money. She said she considered the money "deserved tips."
She was booked into jail and faces felony charges for fraudulent schemes and artifices.
