GUADALUPE, Ariz. -

The United States Marshals Service will host an auction of vehicles forfeited to the government on Saturday morning.

Some hot rods and plenty of other vehicles are up for auction.

The US Marshals Service is selling off some forfeited cars and trucks, and interested bidders are previewing them in Guadalupe. From BMWs to Escalades and even Jaguars, these are just a few of the cars hitting the auction block.

Interested bidders are checking out the lot and getting a look under the hood. And that's a good thing -- all the vehicles are sold "as is."

"They come in whatever condition they come into us to the federal government. They are used in some capacity. They were seized pursuant to a criminal investigation from a Department of Justice agency like FBI, DEA or ATF," says Lu Himmelstein, District Asset Forfeiture Coordinator.

The cars were either used to commit a crime or bought using proceeds from a crime. And there is a wide variety up for grabs.

"We have high end luxury vehicles like a Jaguar, an Escalade. All the way down to some, what we could call, just very reasonably priced family cars."

There are also a few unique cars like a 1968 Camaro Super Sport.

Bring an ID, and if you have the winning bid, you'll need to pay for the vehicle within an hour after the auction is over.

You can do that with cash, a cashier's check or a personal check with a letter of guarantee from your bank.

You can have a chance to preview the cars Saturday morning from 7 to 9 a.m. at Apple Towing in Guadalupe. The auction starts promptly at nine.

Proceeds from seized asset sales go toward victim restitution, public safety efforts in local communities and give funding to law enforcement initiatives that combat criminal activity.
