NOGALES, Ariz. -

Border Patrol agents arrested three convicted sex offenders over the weekend in southern Arizona.

In separate incidents, agents from the Nogales and Douglas stations apprehended Federico Reyes-Rodriguez, 55, and Roman Castillo-Leon, 24, for entering the country illegally.

Reyes-Rodriguez was convicted of raping a child in Washington state. Castillo-Leon had been convicted of having sex with a minor 3 years or younger in San Bernardino, Calif.

They face federal prosecution for illegally re-entering the U.S. as a felon.

Agents from the Willcox station apprehended Rafael Ibarry-Barrera, 37, for entering the country illegally. He had an active warrant for cruelty to a child and corporal injury to a spouse. He is awaiting extradition to Ventura, Calif.
