TUCSON, Ariz. -

A 19-year-old University of Arizona student died Friday after losing control of his motorcycle on Mount Lemmon.

Pima County Sheriff's deputies say Spencer Repp was riding his motorcycle on General Hitchcock Highway when he lost control and went over a guard rail. They say speed was a factor in the crash.

Repp had serious injuries and was flown to University of Arizona Medical Center for treatment.

Deputies say he was conscious and talking to rescuers, but eventually took a turn for the worse and died at the hospital late Friday night.

Repp was a student at the UofA and is originally from New York.
