CHANDLER, Ariz. -

There are now more options for shoppers in the east valley. Dozens of outlet shops open Thursday morning.

"We have 90 stores filled with some of the best brands out there, and of course they're outlets so you're going to save a lot of money," says Michele Rothstein of Phoenix Premium Outlets.

Stores like Michael Kors, Hugo Boss, and Coach are all opening Thursday. This is the second major outlet center to open in the valley in the past few months. Clearly there is plenty of demand.

"We're 100 percent leased. Almost every store will be open this weekend and a few more will be trickling open in the next few weeks and months."

The 360,000 square foot center is across from Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino. The food court even features artwork from two brothers that are part of the Gila River Indian Community.

The company behind this outlet mall also has another one outside Palm Springs, Calif. When they looked at the research, they discovered a lot of the customers were coming from Arizona. So they knew they wanted to build here – the question was where.

"We fell in love with Wild Horse Pass when we saw it. You've got hotels, casino, attraction, didn't have shopping though. So to add an upscale shopping center was a perfect fit," says Rothstein.

The center is expected to create 800 permanent jobs.
