A lot of people are trying to keep their cool and the Phoenix Rescue Mission is out and about in the heat lending a helping hand.
It's the basics the homeless in Phoenix need to try to get through the hottest of days. Cliff Danley knows, he used to be homeless. "Would you want to be homeless in Phoenix in August? We like to think a little bit of hope starts with cold water," said Danley. With water packed, Danley drives around the Hope Coach as part of Phoenix Rescue Mission's new Code Red Simmer Heat Relief Campaign. They spot people in need to give a helping hand. The Hope Coach is not only bringing water and supplies to the needy, it also is a tool to outreach and get the homeless to come into the shelter. Eddie Quintana is one of those people who needs help. He say he struggles to feed himself and his aging father. Quintana takes a little water, a bag of lunch and this day, Some hope. For information about how to help, visit phoenixrescuemission.org.
